GROWING UP WILD
A few-ish (who’s counting?!) years ago, a fun-loving group of five friends; Craig, Tyler, Jon, Aaron, and Mark, grew up together in the Creston Valley sharing many a wild adventure together. From afternoons at Pilot Bay to evenings along Goat River, these five friends grew up wild, truly embracing everything the valley had to offer. All five still have strong ties to the area, with businesses, families, and life-long friends tethering them to the magic of this little slice of the Kootenays.
TRANSFORMING A TIRED SPACE INTO A NEW GATHERING PLACE
It was Craig who noticed a void in the Creston community that was glaringly missing: a space for locals to gather and celebrate excellent craft beer. Along with his wife, Lisa, Craig saw something special in craft beer culture - not just delicious products, but also the people it gathered. Founded during a global pandemic, the Wild North Brewing Company taproom brought just that – a gathering place to sip delicious beer and share stories when our community needed it most.

The Wild North Crew brought new life to a tired, old space, transforming it into the welcoming taproom you see today. Being an old transit spot, the taproom is perfectly located whether you’re a regular local or simply traveling through and looking for a place to sit back and enjoy what’s on tap.

At the heart of the Wild North Crew's journey is the love and passion for really good beer. We believe good beer comes from honest, locally sourced ingredients and an authentic passion for the craft brewing process.

In tune with their love for the Valley, Lisa and Craig wanted their craft to showcase the varied and incredibly talented local businesses in the Creston Valley from food vendors and wineries to trades, suppliers, and craftspeople. That’s why, when you drink our beers, you’re tasting the combined efforts of our many dedicated neighbours in Creston – you’re tasting the Wild North, where friendship, adventure and great beer collide.

Authenticity for us means staying true to who we are, what we do, and who we serve. We are a small local business. We don’t just create good quality craft beer we create craft beer that tastes like Creston Valley. We are proud of our community - its resources, its people, and its natural beauty.

With a heavy dose of focus, we channel our passion into every aspect of our business from producing some of the best craft beer in the Kootenays, to creating a welcoming and inclusive taproom experience for everybody.
